This tour is designed to let you explore the best of what Greece has to offer and leave you with a lasting impression of its history, culture, and unrivaled beauty.
The first part of the tour will touch some of the most famous archeological sites of classical Greece, those places that just can’t be missed, like Athens’ Acropolis with the Parthenon, Olympia, and the sanctuaries at Delphi.
One of the highlights will also be the monasteries of Meteora, perched high on inaccessible rocky pinnacles.
Once we complete this roughly circular tour of continental Greece, we head back to Athens to catch a fast boat to the jewel in the crown of islands that surrounds the country: Santorini.
After having spent a couple days in Santorini, we take another fast boat and land onto another magnificent island: Milos.
From there, we do one more boat transfer to return to Athens, where our tour concludes.
For those who would like to see more of Greece and especially some of its wildest and off-the-beaten-path sites, we offer the option of a 5-day extension to the Peloponnese region. These regions include some truly ancient archeological sites, like Mycenes, once home to kings and queens whose stories were narrated by Homer, Epidauros, with its huge theater, or medieval fortresses like the ones in Monemvassia and Methoni. As we travel between those places, we will pass through remote mountain villages and charming seaside towns, barely touched by mass tourism.
The Continental Greece Tour will run from May 24th to June 4th and the Extension will run from June 4th to June 8th. The cost of the basic tour is $6900.
